Overview
Partial meniscectomy trims the torn, unstable portion of the meniscus when a tear cannot be repaired, relieving catching and pain while preserving as much healthy cartilage as possible.
What the Procedure Involves
- Arthroscopic removal of the torn, unstable meniscus fragment
- Preservation of the healthy meniscus rim
- Performed through small incisions
- Outpatient procedure
Who It's For
- Meniscus tears that are not repairable (pattern or tissue quality)
- Mechanical catching or locking
- Symptoms that persist despite therapy
