Overview

Sciatica is radiating leg pain caused by irritation of the sciatic nerve roots, often from a disc herniation or narrowing of the spinal canal. It typically follows the path of the nerve down the leg.

Common Symptoms

  • Sharp pain radiating down the leg
  • Numbness or tingling in the leg or foot
  • Pain worse with sitting
  • Weakness in the leg
