Overview
An ankle fracture is a break of one or more of the bones forming the ankle, usually from a twisting injury or fall. Accurate alignment is important to preserve long-term joint function.

Recovery & What to Expect
Stable fractures heal in a boot over about six weeks. Fixed fractures begin protected motion, with therapy restoring strength and walking over several weeks to months.
